I know you’re busy momma, adding READING to the list of things to do is about as appealing as cleaning the base of toilet when you have three young boys (yup, it feels like A LOT) but hear me out.

You NEED to read.

You need to immerse yourself in literature that reminds you that you are NORMAL. Something that is uplifting, inspiring, educating.

I am not one to judge what you decide to get lost in but I can tell you, reading a BOOK *yup, old school stylz’* is way more life breathing than scrolling the newsfeed.

So what’s a busy mom to do?

Where do you find a good book on short notice? One that builds your mom character and aligns with wisdom?

Look no further!!! Here are my top recommendations!

Hands Free Life: 9 Habits for Overcoming Distraction, Living Better, & Loving More

This is an absolute MUST for the busy and overwhelmed mom, IMO. When I talk about a quick and life affirming book, THIS IS IT.

Like right to the heart of the mom who feels like she is running in every direction, suffocating in the demands of running a home, and desperate to feel like she isn’t wasting her life.

I am not a fan of a judgemental read and this certainly left loads of room for mom grace, Rachel speaks from the heart. She has been there, is still there, and GETS it when it comes to #life.

If you are looking for a reminder to put down the phone, to stop chasing the wind, along with practical tips for savouring the joy of motherhood, THIS IS IT.

Odd(ly) Enough: Standing Out When the World Begs You To Fit In

You need to laugh, cry, and get right into a book that GETS YOU. I know you do. Something that hits home with a sense of down to Earth southern style.

THIS IS YOUR BOOK, Carolanne is your girl.

I fell in love with this woman through Beachbody and never got the guts to walk up and say hi (I regret this). After a few years of sharing her genuine humour online, a viral video or one hundred, this woman has taken her message of God’s redemption and shared it with the world.

Girl, if you want a relatable, heart compelling reminder that God loves you right where you are, you NEED to toss this one in your cart.

Hope Unfolding: Grace-Filled Truth for the Momma’s Heart

She “get’s” me. She TOTALLY understands the motherhood struggle because, truthfully, she is in the thick of it. Becky shares the struggle when she is hip deep in it.

Wading through the tantrums and the overwhelm, this book speaks to the soul with God’s steadfast love for the hot mess momma.

When you open the pages of Hope Unfolding, it is as though you are sitting down for coffee with your bestie. You can share, unfiltered, the struggle of motherhood over a medium regular and a few Timbits.

Now momma, GIRL, I am serious when I say that you need to start carving out time in your day to dive into some personal development. To get lost in the pages of a good book, and to put down the phone.

You need to be reminded that there are good times, even when it seems bleak. You need to be pulled out of the chaos by your messed up mom bun, and to stand firmly in the love of our Heavenly Father.

You NEED to find time for you again, even if it is a couple of minutes.

Reading is not a race, you do not have to devour a book a week in order to be succeeding. This is not another recommendation designed to make you feel like there is ANOTHER thing that you are failing at. This is me, telling you that I love you, that there is 10 minutes each day do to something for you. Slow down for a moment, grab a coffee, turn on the Netflix, and soak in some wisdom from momma’s who have been there before.

We get you.

THEY get you.

And, most importantly, God loves you enough to give you grace on this journey.
