You see, as our family winds down another year we are sitting at the start of something INSANE and it has my mind racing with ideas, with wanting to make sure I map everything out, with this desperate desire to make it work THIS TIME.
Our bonus baby is on HER way, our first and only daughter is set to arrive in the new year, a baby we had not planned on (sorry hun if you read this down the road) and a gender we never thought we would be blessed with.
I don’t know if it is the fact that my husband is so excited about having “his” baby girl, or if he just REALLY wants a break, but we are planning for a 35 week parental leave so he can spend the majority of the year home with us.
Not just that, we have both been dreaming of the home businesses we can build and run that would provide our family with the unique opportunity to do life together. To have both parents home doing life with our children. To build our mini-homestead, to save for our future homestead, to learn the ropes of homeschooling and serving daily.
^^ yup, I am dropping them big goals out into the world, into the safe place of this little blog … crazy as it is.
Anyhoo, as I prepare for an Olympic style wrapping session, I also mull over the best way to tackle the new year and the BIG goals we have, including researching content planning strategies, how-to’s for creating newsletters to serve YOU better << watch out for that, and monetizing this little space we occupy on the inter webs.
And so, I am putting it out there, the new year will be focused on GROWTH.
On growing as a woman in Christ, as a wife, a mother and a small business owner.
On growing in my confidence and improving my consistency, on being present as a parent and being intentional in how I manage our home, our finances, and our DREAMS.
HEAR ME NOW >> we will NOT waste this year, we will not quit, we will not wait until the last minute and we will not rummage through the rubble of the dreams destroyed by lethargy simply because we are more comfortable coasting on auto-pilot than we are addressing our own weaknesses and areas where we desperately need improvement.
We will MAKE THE MOST OF THIS OPPORTUNITY and I will bring all the crazy to you. From what meal planning tools we test, what budgeting plans we attempt, how we vision board and how I get my husband (who believes that a lot of the “vision board” and goal setting is a bunch of nonsense … though he understands that it works because we KNOW people making it work) to climb on board because HE has big goals too and HE is the head of this house.
